TRaCS 10

The rewrite of TraCS using the latest Click to view larger image .NET technology has been under development for three years. Technology Enterprise Group (TEG) took all that they have learned from Iowa users and users in other States to enhance the TraCS software during the rewrite. The TraCS Team expects the new functionality and flexibility in TraCS 10 to make everyone’s use of the software more trouble free (after the initial bugs are worked out) and allow us to meet future data collection challenges. Thank you for your input and patience as we provide the best possible product.

Iowa began Beta testing of TraCS 10 in June 2009 at Indianola Pd. Since the initial beta test site we have expanded TraCS 10 to Ames Pd and Marshalltown Pd, with more on the horizon. We would like to thank these agencies for assisting the TraCS team in making TraCS 10 the best product possible!

MACH uses the internet and a sophisticated, scalable and secure web services messaging foundation to offer job enhancing features that have until now been unpractical to provide to the public safety official in the field. With MACH, POLICE, EMS, and FIRE agencies can all communicate with each other and share information vital to handling an incident. From car to car instant messaging and alert notifications, to real time mapping of incidents and responders, MACH provides the missing piece needed for inter-agency and cross-agency cooperation.

Web-Based TraCS

TEG is beginning development of a web-based TraCS. Web-based click to view larger image TraCS has the potential to benefit both small agencies and large agencies. The least likely to see an impact are medium sized agencies. Web-based TraCS will allow the smallest agencies, which are not currently being provided TraCS, the opportunity to submit reports electronically on a secure website. The largest agencies may want to consider setting up web services at their agency and potentially use a combination of the current fat client and web TraCS. Web-based TraCS is anticipated to be ready for Beta testing in the fall of 2010 and available for release Spring 2011.
